Rod Brenneman Joins the PrairieChar Advisory Board

Lawrence, Kansas – December 17, 2016 -- PrairieChar, Inc., developer of an innovative approach to converting waste biomass into valuable products, today announced that Rod Brenneman, former President & CEO of both Butterball, the world’s largest turkey producer, and Seaboard Foods, a top U.S. pork producer and processor, has joined its Board of Advisors.

Mr. Brenneman has spent 25 years in senior leadership positions in protein and consumer products companies including 14 years as president and chief executive officer of two different companies. Most recently, he served as President & CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of Butterball, LLC where he was tasked with turning around and leading the company. Prior to his tenure at Butterball, Mr. Brenneman spent more than 22 years with Seaboard Corporation, where he served the company in various leadership capacities. Through his senior leadership positions at Seaboard, including serving as President & CEO of Seaboard Foods for over 11 years, Brenneman helped build Seaboard Foods from its infancy to a $1.7 billion dollar pork production and processing company.

Rod brings a wealth of corporate experience in both the pork and poultry industries. Both of these industries are potential beneficiaries of PrairieChar’s innovative approach to animal manure management. While at Seaboard, Rod was involved with its successful operation to convert pork processing waste fat into biodiesel, giving him valuable insight into PrairieChar’s bioenergy efforts. He has also been successful in leading fast growing organizations, which will help him provide wise guidance to PrairieChar’s rapid expansion plans.
