Lawrence, Kansas – March 15, 2018 -- PrairieChar, Inc., developer of an innovative approach to converting waste biomass into valuable products, today announced that Michael Doane, the Managing Director of Agriculture and Food Systems for The Nature Conservancy has joined its Board of Advisors. Mr. Doane has 20 years of experience leading agribusiness and environmental initiatives. At The Nature Conservancy, an organization dedicated to the sustainable conservation of lands and waters, Michael leads a team of global experts working to scale up conservation priorities on freshwater and habitat protection. Michael and his team recently introduced “reThink Soil” – A Roadmap to U.S. Soil Health, (https://global.nature.org/content/rethinking-soil) as a call to action for science, marketplace and policy solutions on degraded cropland soils. Prior to his time at The Nature Conservancy, Michael spent 16 years with Monsanto in areas of increasing responsibility including Vice President, Sustainable Agriculture Policy. He has also served as Executive Vice President of the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers and is an active partner in his family’s cattle and row crop farming operations. “Michael brings to PrairieChar passion, experience and knowledge in sustainable agriculture.
