About Us

For Farmers, by farmers.

We are on a mission to grow more with less—less fertilizer, less water, less risk—all while unlocking the full potential of the living soil already beneath our boots.

The Prairiefood Story:

Proven of Old Meets Potential of New

The PrairieFood journey began long before the name existed—rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and a partnership that started over a decade ago. What started as a quest to turn cattle manure into renewable fuel evolved into something far more powerful: a breakthrough soil biology solution. By accident—and then by design—PrairieFood discovered how to transform local biowaste into microbe-ready carbon that revives tired soil and reduces our reliance on synthetic inputs.

Healthier soils mean resilient crops, nourished animals, thriving humans, and a sustainable world around us all. With deep roots and fresh eyes, we’re rebuilding the biological engine of agriculture from the ground up.

Jason is a serial ag entrepreneur who's spent over 20 years building companies that solve complex problems for farmers. He started his career as a commodity trader before founding Farms Technology, an electronic marketplace that automated grain transactions and risk management. After a successful exit, he founded Farmobile to give farmers real-time access and ownership of their digital assets—which was fully acquired by AGI, where Jason served as Senior Vice President. He's now a twice-exited startup leader and active member of the Pipeline Entrepreneurs network, where he previously served as Member President.

Like much of the team, Jason couldn’t turn down the opportunity to lead PrairieFood when he saw firsthand the extraordinary (and sometimes unexpected) results. He’s driven even more by the team he’s a part of—their pedigree, their knowledge, their deep empathy and care for the farmer, and the magic that happens when they work together. He’s spent his career at the intersection of agriculture, technology, and data, focused on helping farmers take advantage of what’s possible.
